Safari Horizons Packages, Areas and Activities
Package Requirements
Packages
Although these are the pre set packages of Safari Horizons we are a flexible company and are open to discussion.
Please let us know of any special requirements whether they be dietry, allergy or safari related.
Game Drives
Guests are guided on game drives by skilled knowledgeable trained guides who will be guiding tourists on an adventure that entails viewing wildlife in the comfort of a 4×4 open-sided safari vehicle. The 4x4 accommodates 4 to 6 people and a sure way to give you that classical safari feeling. Safari game drives are one of the most popular ways to see wildlife in Botswana
From your basecamp, game drives are usually conducted in the early mornings, late afternoon or evenings as these are the coolest times of the day when most animals are more active. During the game drive, our knowledgeable safari guides will introduce you to flora and fauna sharing their infinite knowledge about Botswana bush, wildlife and birdlife.
“Everything in Africa bites, but the safari bug is worst of all.”
Brian Jackman (I love this safari quote, it’s one of the simplest and shortest but is so telling of what an African safari truly is like).
Walks
Walking safaris are not normally permitted inside Botswana's national parks and reserves. However, camps that occupy concessions on the boundary of Moremi Game Reserve, home to the wilds of Chief's Island, do offer the activity. Our guides cannot carry a rifle but they are highly trained to read animal behavior and avoid confrontation, so you're in safe hands.
Our Camps
Safari Horizons use HATAB, Botswana Guide Association (BOGA) and also public campsites. Our Camps Accommodation are comfortable a dome tent.
Guests arriving at a mobile campsite will find all the tents set up, cold drinks on hand and all your dietry needs attended to. Mobile Safaris offer a set camp menu with tes, coffee, water and soft drinks – it all makes for a relaxing and unbeatable experience in the bush.
“If there were one more thing I could do, it would be to go on safari once again.”
Karen Blixen(Another great safari quote by Karen Blixen herself)
Mokoro and Boat Cruises
Travel the wild waterways of the Okavango Delta using flat-bottomed boats, steered by a poler standing at the back of the vessel pushing forward with a long pole. Certified professional polers / guides follow paths cleared by hippos and elephants. You'll sit at water level, inches above the surface, and enjoy the river in silence
Take a river cruise or a boating safari and experience nature at its best– the river, the animals and the sunset!
